Raffle Summary

hi my name is claire and my dogs name is charlie, and charlie will be 2 in june 2020. its been a rough year for charlie, hes been in and out of Pet hospital in cowplain in portsmouth for bladder stones and bleeding in the urine, hes been on number of different medications.loads of tests, blood tests, urine tests, contrast dyes on his bladder to try and find the root of the problems, it breaks my heart to see him go though all this. charlie is my rock, i suffer with bad anxiety and panic attacks and before charlie came in to my life i couldnt leave the house for 3 years, just the thought of it would send me in a melt down and then it would set of my IBS .so when welcoming a 8 week old charlie in to my home, he stole my heart the second i saw him and of course he would need to out for walks, and he helped me leave the house, i knew i wasn't on my own he was with me, i was so focused on him playing and checking out new smells and greeting other dogs i forgot i had anxiety, so when he started having all these problems i had to try and help him it was my job i am his mum, hes was being sick every other day, he had bad diarrhoea, he would paced some nights he couldnt settle so i stayed up on those nights so he wasn't going though it on his own, he has days of no energy, loss of appetite blood in his urine, we had to rush him to the vets twice, his urinary tract became blocked and he couldn't wee, so he had to had a catheter to unblock it. thats the year he has had, so fast forward to the present, he had tests to find out once and for all what was causing all this and it was confirmed by two blood tests, my charlie has a LIVER SHUNT. a little info about this. A liver shunt occurs when an abnormal connection persists or forms between the portal vein or one of its branches, and another vein, allowing blood to bypass or shunt around the liver. In the majority of cases, a liver shunt is caused by a birth defect called a congenital portosystemic shunt. The best treatment for a liver shunt is surgery. ... Medical treatment will buy time, whereas surgical treatment can provide a cure. Once the shunt is closed off and the liver does its job of cleaning up toxins, the dog can have a normal life and a normal lifespan. Therefore, surgery is recommended to help shunt patients This is where i am asking, nope. BEGGING for your help hes on medication at the moment but its not a long term option, sadly the pet hospital in cowplain dont have the specialised equipment to do the surgery and its need vets specialists in this field, and the after care. and as you guess its not going to be cheap please if charlie could talk he would say please help me to help him in raising the £5000 to get him the treatment he needs. its a cure for him and he be able to live a happy life, hes the best thing that's ever happened in my life and i need to do all i can to help him like he helped me PLEASE PLEASE donate as little and as much as you can, from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU
