Massive thank you to all those who have helped me put this together and to the businesses small and large who have donated prizes... check them all out! What's the deal & why are we doing a raffle? Well, I want to show support to a key part of the hinching community, and my best friend, Lee aka @officially_hinched - whether he likes it or not! Back in March 2020 Lee & his family got the heart breaking news that Nick, aged 57, much loved Dad to Lee, Joe and Sophie and husband to Tracy was diagnosed with Stage 4 terminal Pancreatic and Liver Cancer. Lee's parents are originally from the UK but have spent best part of 20 years living in Australia. Lee decided to return home to the UK at age 18 . You can read Lee's story on his Instagram highlights. Due to COVID and the situation in the UK it is impossible for Nick to return to the UK. Due to lack of funds, red tape and the UK going back into lockdown they have been trying to come to terms with the fact that Lee may not make it back there anytime soon either. The last time the family spent Christmas together was 15 years ago so it would be pretty special if we could reunite them while Nick is still feeling well and looking good. Obviously Nick can’t work like he used to so money is challenging right now. The family, especially Lee, are very private and proud and never reached out for help. A family friend setup a go fund me page over in Oz and myself, Talia Dean and many others took to Instagram without giving Lee the option to say no.... which I know he would have. He also does not know about this raffle and will probably kill me but as a close friend I would rather give it my all to help him see his Dad once more. If you have a chance in life you should go for it so this is me. Going for it. Sorry Lee! The money raised will be used for overpriced flights, quarantines, a visa, private Corona testing and all the other red tape expenses needed for them to enjoy a much over due Christmas together... we may miss the Christmas deadline depending on money and Corona but for them to be together again at anytime would be perfect. If there are any funds left over they will be used to help Nick and his family with living expenses and to improve the quality of time Nick has left with his family to create some more wonderful memories together.
