Raffle Summary
In December 2015 we sadly lost our Sister, Daughter, Stepdaughter, Granddaughter, Auntie, Niece, Cousin and Friend, Hannah Blowers. Hannah was just 16 years old and studying Equestrian Studies at Hadlow College in Kent. Hannah adored her young cousins, Amy & Kim, who are visually impaired and wanted to do something to improve their chances of owning their own Guide Dogs when they are older. So just under seven years ago a six week old Labrador puppy called Kurt was delivered to us. Over the next twelve months Sara, Hannah’s mother, taught him to Sit, Lay Down, Up Sit, go Left & Right, find a free chair on a bus or train, find a door and many other commands that the vast majority of us take for granted that Guide Dogs assist their Owners to do every day. Hannah loved the Guide Dog puppies Kurt, Ewan, Watson, Ulric and Arthur we had puppy walked to that date. Since we first started doing puppy walking for Guide Dogs Hannah was determined to have a puppy named Dudley and so with this in mind we decided to try to name a puppy Dudley in her memory. In January 2016 we launched a fund to sponsor a Guide Dog Puppy in Hannah’s memory and raise funds for the tireless and important work that Guide Dogs do. We were delighted that through donations at her funeral and bucket collections, in November 2017 Dudley started his training with a Guide Dog Puppy Walker and having qualified he was matched with his new Owner and has become a life changer. We are now looking to raise another £5,000 to sponsor a second puppy in their training. We had hoped to be able to run a fundraising raffle earlier this year but due to the Covid-19 pandemic we had to put our plans on hold and once again we’ve been unable to go out and sell tickets and raise funds for Guide Dogs so we are holding the raffles online. We will be donating 90% of the proceeds from the ticket sales to The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, with Raffall receiving 10% commission. About the charity : The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association Guide Dogs for the Blind Association provide mobility and freedom to blind and partially sighted people.
