The UCLan Student Minds society and the UCLan Rams (the American Football team) who are both based at the University of Central Lancashire have joined forces to raise as much money as possible for their chosen charity - CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). CALM (Charity No - 1110621) is leading a movement against suicide through vital life-saving support, impactful provocative campaigns, and collective action. Every week, 125 people in the UK take their own lives. And 75% of all UK suicides are male. Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45. CALM exists to change this. CALM volunteers spoke to over 122,000 people in 2019, directly preventing 588 suicides. Since the start of the pandemic, CALM have experienced a record surge in demand for their helpline...37% more daily calls from people struggling with worries around health, family, work, and mental health concerns. Please help CALM meet this unprecedented demand and save more lives. £8 - Enables CALM to answer one potentially life-saving call £24 - Provides support materials to 4 families who have lost someone to suicide £109 - Equips a volunteer with vital training and ongoing support to spread the CALM message across the UK £440 - Trains and equips a professional helpline worker to speak to people in crisis Tickets are priced at £1 each, and you can buy as many as you want, with 100% of the ticket revenue going straight to CALM. *To enter the raffle, you must answer a question.
