This Christmas we are fundraising to transform an empty room at our new Walthamstow Toy Library into a multi-sensory play space. Think 1970s lava lamps and flock wallpaper - only joking! Imagine lights, colourful projections, textures, sounds and smells to stimulate the senses. Cosy seating for relaxation and calm, and interactive, busy boards on the walls for little hands to explore and learn. There are many therapeutic and educational benefits to sensory rooms. Multi-sensory spaces activate different areas of the brain, building neural pathways more quickly to enhance learning and development . They provide a fun and safe environment to learn new skills, build confidence and self esteem. Children can be active if they need to let off steam or calm if they have anxiety and need a safe space to just be. For families they provide a great time to play, learn and bond together. So our Leytonstone Toy Library doesn't feel left out, we would like to purchase some sensory toys for them too. These high quality, educational toys can be borrowed by our members and won't cost the Earth financially or environmentally. Please buy a raffle ticket or two to help us transform an empty room into a magical play space. Thank you!

Choose either the Walthamstow or Leytonstone Toy Library to host your little ones birthday party in 2022. You will get the use of our venue for three hours (includes 30 minute set up and clear up time) and three activities of your choice. We'll also provide a member of staff to help you with the set up and clear up. T&Cs apply.
