Raffle Summary
Raising money for the Mark Benevolent Fund (MBF). The prize was donated by the family of Elaine McMillan who sadly passed away in September 2021. Wife to Bob McMillan, Assistant Provincial Grand Master in Cheshire, Elaine was an avid supporter of the fund and was a Grand Patron Diamond Award holder. Having raised money in Elaine's name for MacMillan Cancer Care following her passing, the family wanted to take the opportunity to support the MBF and continue Elaine's legacy. Bob is also the Chairman for the 2024 MBF Cheshire Festival.

A vintage Louis Vuitton designer handbag, this Knightsbridge in Damier Ebene was purchased in 2006 and barely used. It is a beautiful bowler style bag (meaning the straps can be carried in the hand or on the arm in the crook of the elbow), with a doctor's bag style aperture opening. It has a microfibre lining and chocolate brown leather trim. The bag is constructed from the patented Louis Vuitton coated cotton canvas which was created at the turn of the 20th century to protect the contents of trunks used in travel from being subject to the elements. Revolutionary at the time, this waterproof material makes the bag particularly durable when treated with care. The retail value in 2006 was £690 and this bag has held its value, achieving similar prices on the second hand market, particularly in the USA and China. A similar replacement purchase today would cost in the region of £850 - £1250. This specific item was manufactured in the home country of the designer - France, and comes with the original proof of purchase.
