We are raising funds for Charlton Athletic Community Trust’s Charlton Upbeats Down's Syndrome team. Founded in 2008, the Upbeats programme provides a progressive and safe environment for players of all ages to play football in. It also aims to increase participants’ social skills and confidence. Funds raised will contribute to costs of their training sessions, attended by 30 attendees weekly, travel to participate in annual tournaments in Birmingham (the Upbeats are nine-time national Down’s Syndrome champions and Belfast), and take part in a range of activities. The programme is entirely reliant on voluntary contributions, and donations are vital to keep the programme running. A signed match-worn George Dobson shirt has been donated to help raise the funds required.
