This raffle is to raise money for a public Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), to be placed on Fore Street, Newquay, Cornwall. With public access to it 24/7. In the UK over 60,000 heart attacks happen each year outside of an hospital environment and sadly 95% of these result in death. The quicker someone has access to a AED the better their chances of survival are. An AED can help keep someone alive until an ambulance and trained medics arrive. Our aim is to provide and maintain at least one a year, to eventually cover all of Newquay, and help to keep our residents and visitors as safe as possible. Newquay Activity Centre has kindly donated this Coasteering Voucher so that 100% of the proceeds of this raffle will go towards providing an AED.
