For the very first time, The Friends of CCS Adoption will be holding a virtual raffle! There are lots of amazing prizes to be won, all kindly donated by local businesses wishing to support CCS Adoption and the Centre Recovery Appeal. What is the Centre? The Centre is CCS’s adoption’s support hub that offers a unique range of support groups, workshops, and activities for tots to teens and their parents which support and improve the well-being of the whole family. We offer this crucial support to all adoptive families from Bristol and the surrounding counties. Many of you will be familiar with our work. But did you know our Centre services are not paid for by statutory funding and that it costs about £200,000 a year to run! Last year over 200 families benefitted from our specialist services (rated Outstanding by Ofsted) and it is vital that these services continue. Purchasing tickets online is easy! Simply click the enter button and complete your personal details along and answer one question: What colour do you associate with Ireland! A wonderful prize kindly donated by the Avon Valley Railway Opened in 1869 by the Midland Railway as a through-route between Birmingham and the South Coast the line was later linked to the iconic Somerset & Dorset Railway. Closed under the Beeching Axe of the 1960's the Avon Valley Railway was preserved by an enthusiastic group of volunteers. Today, 40 years on, three miles of track has been re-laid, locomotives and carriages restored, and the sound of steam can once again be heard along the Avon Valley.
