The 2022 World Cup is being hosted in Qatar, a country which being homosexual is illegal and is punishable by prison or even the death penalty. We have been kindly donated by Tottenham Hotspur an Official signed Spurs shirt that features our rainbow lettering and numbers and signed by both the men’s and women’s team captains. Men’s captain Hugo Lloris, who has been an active ally of the Proud Lilywhites in recent years, signed this shirt before setting off to Qatar to represent France at the World Cup this year. Although he has not been given permission to wear any rainbow merchandise when representing his country, we will be raffling this item to raise money for LGBTQ+ Qataris. Women’s captain Shelina Zadorsky has also been vocal in her support of the Proud Lilywhites since joining the club in 2020. Proceeds raised will donated to the Alwan foundation - an organisation that aims to collect evidence-based data to accurately reflect the circumstance and living conditions of the LGBTQ+ community in different gulf countries, including Qatar.
