Sweepstake Summary

We all know that we rely on the bees, but what can we do to help them? Sure, we can plant the right kind of flowers, take part in no-mow May, avoid using indiscriminate pesticides, and try to coax others to do the same. We can sign petitions, those of is with the access to do so can create mini-habitats as refuges for bees too. All these are great and worthwhile things. I have made this piece from my collected stashes of amber glass and decorative chain, and added a glass BEEad made for me by one of my all time favourite lampworkers. These BEEads are no longer available as sadly, dear Laney has finally hung up her torch. So I hope that combined, our work might be able to raise a bit of cash to donate to the UK beekeepers society, who are involved in so many projects aimed to save our helpful insect friends. 50% of ticket sales will go direct to the Beekeepers Association, and postage within the UK will be covered. https://www.bbka.org.uk/appeal/save-the-bees

1 Prize

  • A Tiffany method suncatcher of different amber shades of glass, finished with a copper patina, with a metal and enamel bee at the top. In addition, a handmade lampwork BEEad by the amazing Laney Mead of Izzybeads dangles from the piece on a short length of golden coloured chain.
