Hello everyone, I am the current Miss Liverpool GB 2023 and will be hosting an online raffle to raise money for both Cancer Research UK and Alex’s Wish. All proceeds will be split evenly and go to both charities. Prizes to be won from Once Upon A Dream Entertainment are: 1st - A personalised video from a princess of your choice. 2nd - A 15 minute home visit from a princess of your choice. 3rd - An hour party package from a princess of your choice. A donation of £5 per entry can be paid on my Justgiving page (please state your name on your donation) Unfortunately, 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime. Cancer Research UK funds scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer sooner. Their vision is to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. In the 1970s, less than a quarter of people with cancer survived, but over the last 40 years, survival has doubled – today half will survive. Their ambition is to accelerate progress and see three- quarters of people surviving the disease by 2034. Alex’s Wish mission is to eradicate Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Duchenne affects 1 in every 3,500 boys born (it does affect girls too but this is very rare). It’s a devastating aggressive fatal muscle- wasting disease which can leave children paralysed by their late teens. This condition affects both the heart and the lungs, both of which are a muscle. Duchenne is caused by a mutation on the X chromosome, boys are born with the condition and it can affect any family. Whilst it is 100% fatal, boys are now living longer with improved care standards and medical advances. Our mission is to continue to improve standards of living and to ultimately cure this condition.
