I have decided to raffle a ghost from my personal collection in aid of DBA UK. The first £39 will be retained to stand the cost of the ghost to cover event entry/travel and details regarding postage are listed below. The ghost is a beach style Gem Stonemason ghost purchased from the shop on the shambles. Original box and tissue paper will also be included. I am running the Great North Run in September - my first ever half marathon - in support of DBA UK. My cousin William is 14 years old and suffers from a rare bone marrow failure disease called Diamond Blackfan Anaemia. He receives regular blood transfusions every 3 weeks in order to keep him alive. He also has various other medical procedures and receives treatment for the build up of iron in his body caused by all the blood transfusions. DBA UK is a small charity and relies on a very small number of people to fundraise to provide money to fund vital research into this disease. It also provides important support to families while they go through the difficulties of battling DBA. William is affected by this illness every single day of his life and we would love to support the charity that has supported all of his family so much over the years since William was only a few months old. All proceeds beyond Raffall fees and ghost cost will be donated to my GNR Justgiving page when the recipient receives their prize!
