A very rare opportunity to win a 1971 Alexis MK18 Historic Formula Ford 1600 race car. These opportunities don’t come up very often! Historic formula fords regularly change hands for 25-30k and this is the cheapest possible way into this brilliant championship. Being a 1971 car it’s also eligible for classic Formula Ford and Super Classic Formula Ford. Plus the Formula Ford Festival and legendary Walter Hayes trophy end is season events. Almost a complete car including the gearbox and Kent engine. This won’t take much to get ready for the racing circuits a rear drive shaft is required and is easily sourced components to make the shaft are included in the competition. The original drawings are also included in the prize This car is a project but includes the popular Hewland gearbox and a Kent engine that can be heard running. The car arrived in the UK imported by the previous owner to be re-commissioned and raced in the UK. The original owner had some work done by TS Historic including Water system Fuel tank covers The brakes have been serviced and the pedals re-plated and re-fitted The owner then had a change of plans and I purchased it as it sits with the intention to get it race-ready but I have far too many projects and this will be sat around for many years taking up valuable space. The engine runs and has an identification mark from a US engine builder (see video linked below) but I haven’t inspected it. It has good oil pressure and sounds good but is unknown, a great basis for a rebuild/refresh The gearbox shifts okay but again I haven't inspected it but it appears to be in good condition.
