Raffle Summary

This is special RED THREAD NUMBERED (174/200) COPY OF CORALINE

1 Prize

  • ***this book is being raffalled with the permission of the author and the publisher)*** Hello all of you Neil Gaiman and Lyras Books Fans, It's been a minute since I last raffalled off any books and here I am once again with this superb limited numbered (174 of 200) edition of the Red Thread Coraline book. First of all, for those of you who are new to Neil's work but love the chance to win something unique there is some information about both the author and the artist below. Neil needs no introduction really, he is a master of his art second to none! A New York Times bestselling author and creator of books, graphic novels, short stories, film and television for all ages, including Norse Mythology, Neverwhere, Coraline, The Graveyard Book, The Ocean at the End of the Lane, The View from the Cheap Seats, and the Sandman comic series to name but a few! Phew! The artist on the Red Thread Coraline is Rovina Cai, she is an illustrator from Melbourne, Australia. Her poetic imagery has served as covers and interior artwork for novels and picture books. Clients she has had the pleasure of working with include Penguin Random House, Macmillan, HarperCollins, The Folio Society and Tor.com, among others. If you had been lucky enough to buy one of these books this edition would have set you back a very cool £600 this edition is as follows. Print Run: 200 Pages: 201 Trimmed Page Size: 240 x 170mm Paper: 148gsm Mohawk Superfine Eggshell Printing: Letterpress in black and red throughout Binding: Full black Morocco goatskin Presentation: Tipped in colour plates, silk marker ribbon Box: Cloth capped slipcase with a wrap of marbled paper Signatures: Neil Gaiman (author) and Rovina Cai (artist) There are additional little doodles on this particular book. This year there will be an additional prize added in with this book it will be a very special edition of Coraline's raincoat colours of yellow and blue glass dipped pen made by an amazing glass artist Sally Sutherland who can be found on the link below. https://www.sallysutherlanddesigns.com/ Neil already owns one of her amazing glass dip pens as those of you who follow me will know. This book, as per all previous books, will support non referral foodbanks up and down the country such as John Lyons Carntyne and Riddrie Non Referral Foodbank a project which I have been involved with for a few years now, Warwick Proud Welfare Care Services whom I have also come to support, support for homelessness, and support wholly for volunteer led charities such as The Biscuit Fund - https://www.biscuitfund.org/ and my own project of Give a Kid a Coat for Christmas which I have now been running for a number of years, not all in that order and there are a few smaller charities I regularly support mainly on Twitter/X to name but a few. There are currently 4.2 Million, LET THAT SINK IN for a minute, 4.2 million children currently living in poverty the UK according to The Child Poverty Action Group with many adults going without food in order to feed their children which is in the 21st century an utter disgrace. Every single time you buy a raffall ticket and enter this competition you will be supporting one of the above charities please feel free to buy as many tickets as you would like and can afford! Now onto the important and boring bits! Usually I am happy to ship to anywhere in the World, however this year will be different, there is so much conflict going on and this is such a valuable book with so many charities relying on the funds raised from it. ****Shipping will be done via Transglobal Express and will be PAID FOR BY THE WINNER***THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE**** I will only ship to the following countries. United Kingdom United States Canada Australia Most of Europe but NOT UKRAINE I do understand that this may be disappointing for some of you but with so many conflict zones in the World I just cannot take the risk of this book being lost.
