The Crewe Leg Club was launched this year to support people with lower limb conditions such as leg ulcers or lymphoedema, with Crewe district nurses providing the treatment. The Leg Club is so much more than a clinical group - it provides activities, refreshments and emotional support for those people that would usually be isolated due to their conditions. It allows people with similar conditions come together to prevent social isolation and create friendships and bonds. The healing rates we have seen have been significant since the club started, and we are raising funds to allow this much-loved project to continue. The Club has been a huge success at our recent venue, The Wishing Well Georges Community Centre, West Street, Crewe. It is a friendly welcoming space for all to take part in our activities or simply have a brew, a biscuit and a chat following their treatment.
