Between Christmas and New Year, the nation rejoiced as I stormed to a delicious victory in a MasterChef special in which the critics cooked-off against each other and a few hardened journalists wept, although I wasn’t one of them. Now we’re holding a prize draw. The prize: I will cook the winning dishes for a dinner party of up to eight people, in your own home. The money raised will go to help fund The Food Chain, the brilliant and vital London charity providing nutritional advice and support to people with HIV, of which I’m very proud to be a longstanding patron. While I can substitute lamb ribs for pork ribs if necessary, I’m afraid there aren’t any other substitutions. Please do not enter if you need vegan options, there is someone in your potential party who is allergic to shellfish, doesn’t eat dairy, or absolutely hates my journalism. WHAT I AM OFFERING As the Food Chain is a London charity, this offer is within the M25 only. I will be doing the prep at home and then bringing it all to the location so geographically it does have to be limited. PLEASE DON’T ENTER UNLESS YOU HAVE ACCESS TO A KITCHEN/ DINING ROOM WITHIN THE M25. I will bring all the ingredients and any necessary cooking kit to your house. I will cook and serve all the dishes for eight people, and tidy up the cooking mess in the kitchen. I will wear the Burgundy bandana on request. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR Crockery, cutlery, glassware, all drinks, washing all of that up and telling me how great I am. I will liaise with the winner ahead of the big night on a mutually agreeable date, arrival times and the kitchen set up.
