Raffle Summary
This weekend QPR host Brighton & Hove Albion in our final pre-season friendly before our Championship campaign begins on 10th August against West Bromwich Albion. While on the pitch, the players will be rivals, off the pitch Rangers’ Lyndon Dykes and the Seagulls’ Lewis Dunk have teamed up to raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK. Dykes has donated a Scotland match shirt while Dunk has provided one of his England match shirts for the cause. R’s striker Dykes was moved to help when he became friends with Jordan Adams, whose life has been heavily impacted by dementia, while Dunk was quick to offer his support when he heard the story. Not only has Jordan lost his mum, nan and auntie to this cruel disease, Jordan himself received the genetic diagnosis of the MAPT mutation that causes the Frontotemporal Dementia in 2018, and his younger brother Cian was also diagnosed with the same MAPT mutation, meaning they both face the same fate. Jordan and Cian are now working hard to raise as much money as they can for Alzheimer’s Research, with an overall target of £100,000. You can purchase a £5 raffle ticket for Lewis’s signed England shirt from the Belgium fixture on 26th March 2024.
