Sweepstake Summary

Ryuutou Dabi Ghost Billy Ackers. Artisan jeweller Serpent cast in 925 sterling silver, 92 grams. Silver hallmarked inlay in the base. Ghost with Citrine eyes. All ticket revenue (after the 9% Raffall commission) donated directly to Macmillan Cancer support. https://www.macmillan.org.uk/ Each year during Ghost Week we made a small edition of unusual Ghosts which are sold to raise money for charitable causes. This year there are five. The Cabinet of Curiosity Ghosts have been made by skilled artisans, each of these rare larger sized Ghosts is unique in character. They can be seen in the windows of 60 Goodramgate, set on the boundary of the ancient medieval church of Holy Trinity. The concept of the Cabinet of Curiosity has its roots deeply embedded in Renaissance Europe, a period marked by a renewed thirst for knowledge and discovery. Imagine a world without televisions, computers, and phones. How might you entertain your guests after dinner without the aid of any of such technology? Cabinets of Curiosities were the aristocrat’s answer  for enlivening the opulent but dimly lit social events thrown during the Italian Renaissance and beyond (1550 - 1800). Curious collections ranged in size, from as small as a piece of furniture know as Wunderkammer to an entire room dedicated to vast collections. The contents of the Cabinet of Curiosities were as varied as the interests of their collectors. They often housed exotic artefacts from distant places, proposing glimpses into cultures and civilisations far removed from their own; these artefacts represented human ingenuity and craftsmanship across different eras and cultures. Within the cabinets you may find many diverse artefacts, such as, natural history objects, which could include stuffed animals and birds, tusks, gigantic shells, skeletons, insects or fossils. Cabinets would also often include works of art, antiques, automatons, scientific instruments, even preserved mermaids and carved ghosts. Cabinet of Curiosities were a microcosm of the world, encapsulating the wonders of nature, the richness of human culture, and the boundless realms of imagination.  You can buy raffle tickets for each of these curious limited edition larger York Ghosts during the event, 91% of money raised will go to charity ( after the 9% Raffall commission ). We have raised significant sums for Carecent, SNAPPY, The Trussell Trust, Papyrus, The Island & York Food Bank through previous Ghost Week charity initiatives. The Raffalls are open to people outside of the UK although if an overseas winner is selected at random then they will be responsible for covering any shipping costs. UK winners receive free postage or collection from our offices if appropriate. Multiple ticket purchases have equal opportunity for success as ticket numbers are selected from the entire range of tickets purchased including individual tickets purchased as part of a bulk buy. Ticket bundle opportunities offered as early bird incentives. Winners will be notified by Raffall immediately after the draws are made at 5pm on Sunday 10th November. In order for the funds to be released to the charities all winners must press the 'accept' button located on their Get Prize screen that is accessible via the claim button located on their winning tickets.
