Sweepstake Summary

As you might have guessed, this gyuto was produced by two separate makers, being made by both Jack at No Joke Knives and Steve at the Rockchop Knife Co. The gyuto was forged and heat-treated by Jack, while Steve did all the heavy lifting by setting down the knifes bevels, before polishing and sharpening said bevels to his usual immaculate standards. The blade was then sent back to the No Joke knives workshop to be handled and completed, ready for its big release. Hardened and tempered with versatility in mind, the gyuto is a 52100 san mai, clad in dirty wrought iron (a polishers dream!) and maintains a handle comprised of bog oak, carbon dated to 3300BC, with silicon bronze strips and a responsibly sourced buffalo horn cap. The raffle also includes a bunch of ancillary bits to help you maintain the knife too! Along with the gyuto, you can expect to receive a converted blue stripe tea towel, some stone dust for help polishing as well as some wax and oils for the blade and handle. You might even get a sticker or two if you're lucky ;) Knife stats: The knife has an edge length of 229mm and a total length of 240mm, being 56mm high at the heel, while weighting a total of 224 grams. The spine incorporates a distal taper from 4mm, down past 0.5mm at the very tip. The handle is 155mm x 26mm x 23mm and gently tapers in towards the heel of the blade. Good luck everyone, and thanks in advance for participating!
