Please read the story below. Robin’s Story We first noticed that Robin stopped walking and was unable to stand on his legs, we went to a&e to check he was okay to be told it was just muscle pain. A week goes by, and he gets a temperature of 40+ took him to a&e to be told it was a viral infection. After going back to a&e 7x and GP 5x we got told on the 9th April 2025 he had leukaemia we were instantly sent to Leeds for further testing. Robin was diagnosed with ALL leukaemia was started on chemotherapy straight away after 2.5 weeks of treatment he developed pancreatitis which is a side effect of one of his chemotherapy’s. His body filled with fluid which was being treated but after a few days both robins lungs collapsed for an unknown reason. His lungs filled with fluid so they needed to put in 2 chest drains to drain the fluid he was then taken to icu on a ventilator to help him breathe. Shortly after his bowel perforated which he had emergency surgery for, they also found black dots all over his bowel and a yellow/gold spec on his gallbladder they still don’t know to this day what they are or if it’s still there. After 2.5 months on the icu Robin had in total 5 drains, 7 surgeries, constant ventilation, 60+ scans and 24 hour care. We were told he had developed a life-threatening infection called candida which has a high death rate for children like Robin, we was told 3x that he wasn’t going to survive and we had to think of his way of life. After all that hell late June Robin had made an amazing recovery and was able to move back down to the oncology ward he had the ventilator removed but remind on hi flow oxygen. He celebrated his 2nd birthday on the 7th of July and had an amazing day. Fast forward to now Robin no longer needs oxygen, he has beat the infection and is completely clear from it and he is just a happy little boy again now we are focusing on the next steps of his chemotherapy as he was unable to carry on during all this, we have a long way to go but he’s our little warrior.
