Win Chairboys Goodies!

Sweepstake Summary
Before February 2022, our family had never heard of Tracheoesophageal Fistula or Oesophageal Atresia (TOF/OA). The day our son Corey was born, that changed forever. Corey's Mum, Katie, had suspected something wasn’t right during pregnancy, and soon after his arrival on 27 February, doctors confirmed Corey was unable to swallow. TOF/OA affects just 180 children a year in the UK, leaving the food pipe disconnected from the stomach and abnormally joined to the windpipe. Within hours Corey underwent surgery, but his “long gap” oesophagus meant two separate attempts failed. Our only option was an invasive procedure called a gastric pull-up. In this surgery the stomach is reshaped into a tube and pulled up into the chest to act as a substitute oesophagus. Before Corey could face that, he had to grow stronger at home. For several months he lived with an oesophagostomy, meaning anything he swallowed spilled from a hole in his neck. In September, surgeons finally created a working swallow into his stomach, though he remained tube-fed, having missed those vital early feeding months. We hoped the worst was behind us. Sadly, in 2025 a new challenge appeared. A growth on his aortic valve meant Corey, then just three, needed open-heart surgery. The fear of sending him into theatre again was overwhelming, but after seven tense hours the operation succeeded. His recovery was hard, but Corey’s resilience shone through, and within weeks he was back to himself: cheeky, energetic, and even kicking a football around the park (against doctor’s orders). In conjunction with our beloved Wycombe Wanderers, we are now raising funds for TOFS. The club has embraced our story with incredible generosity, inviting Corey and his brother Callum to be mascots and helping us launch this raffle. TOFS is a small but vital charity that provides lifelong support for families like ours, connects parents navigating these challenges, and funds essential research into a condition that urgently needs more awareness. By taking part in this raffle you will be directly helping children born unable to swallow. Please buy a ticket, donate if you can, or share our story to spread the word. Thank you, and come on you Blues.
