This raffle aims to raise money for two families in Palestine, Ola and Hassan, and Eyiad and his wife. 100% of the proceeds will be split between them. You can read more about their stories at the end of the description. The prize consists of 4 Palestine themed knitted coasters, a watermelon bookmark, 3 knitted pumpkins, 2 knitted Palestinian poppy ornaments, and 2 Halloween ghost decorations. The coasters are embroidered with traditional Palestinian Tatreez symbols, in the colours of the Palestinian flag. The winner will be announced on the 21st October, and the prize will be shipped (free of cost) on the 23rd October. Only one winner will be chosen. I hope to raise as much money as possible for the living expenses of these two families. They've become my dear friends over the last two years, and I'm heartbroken every day hearing how their children are going to sleep hungry and waking up to the sound of bombs. - Their stories - Ola and Hassan have two children, Mohammed (2) and Marwan (9 months). They're separated from the rest of their family, who have never been able to meet Marwan. They've received less than 10 donations this whole year, but they've never given up hope on raising their children with love. Mohammed and Marwan frequently get infections from the awful conditions, and they're struggling, as is everyone in Gaza, to access the most basic necessities and feed their babies. This week, they were displaced again, and narrowly escaped being shot at and bombed. You can follow them on TikTok at @sarasawada0 (Ola's sister). Eyiad and his wife have four children, Ayham (15), Mohammed (13), and twins Mays and Ziad (12). Eyiad's wife was recently diagnosed with cancer, and a few weeks ago, Eyiad was shot trying to get aid. They frequently go 5+ days without eating to ensure their children don't go hungry, and Eyiad now weighs less than his youngest child. It's been months since the children have seen their grandparents, and now they're struggling even more with Eyiad and his wife's medical expenses. They go to sleep hungry, being punished for crimes they didn't commit. All they want is for their children to be able to grow up, and the basic human right of safety.
