he Astor Theatre needs our help! During this pandemic arts venues are suffering the most and unsure on when and how they can safely open and where the money is coming in to keep them afloat. The Astor theatre in Deal is no exception and would be a terrible loss to the town if we were to lose this amazing venue. Stagecatz meets at the Astor, providing musical theatre classes to children and young people and we want to help raise money to keep the theatre going. Each week, beginning Friday 3rd July we will be holding the Great Art Raffle. For just £5 a ticket, you could win yourselves a piece of art work from both local artists and those with a connection to Deal and know that your £5 will go towards saving our much loved venue.

You could win this beautiful print of a rainbow over the sea taken by Richard Taylor -Jones. RTJ (richard taylor-jones) has developed a growing reputation as a fine art photographer. Based in his family home town of Deal in the UK he photographs the sea obsessively. His ongoing 'Buoy' series studies a single marker Buoy in the English channel and is his most established work. Each print in the 'Buoy' series is a unique one off. “Rainbows”, MyCloud and “Moon One” are more recent stand alone bodies of work that are starting to gain real attention. His work has collectors around the world from New York to Paris and of course London. He is one of our best selling artist. He is also one of the UK's best known BBC wildlife cameramen.
