Win up to £200 of Trek Bicycle Bristol vouchers in this raffle, to support my fund raising campaign to raise £5,000 in aid of Mind, Food Cycle, and The Bristol Bike Project!!! For the main feature of my fund raising I am going to attempt to cycle 350 miles in 24 hours, between 8am 24th and 8am 25th July 2021. Trek Bicycle Bristol are very kindly supporting my attempt and have donated £200 of vouchers to use in my fund raising, so here they are for you to win!!! There are just 300 tickets (I wanted it to be 350, but that is not an option). First prize is £150 of vouchers, and second prize is one £50 voucher. The raffle will close at 8am 25th July 2021, when I finish by attempt. I have chosen to support Mind, Food Cycle and The Bristol Bike Project for the work they do to support mental health, address food scarcity, and promote cycling. I am also using my fund raising to raise awareness of and reduce the stigma around mental illness. On that note, here are some thoughts... Mental health is not something bad or embarrassing, rather every one of us has it, as it is the term used to refer to the physical and psychological condition of our brains!!! Whereas, mental ill-health is the term used to refer our brains when they are damaged, e.g. by chemical imbalance and/or psychological impacts, and mental illness is the diagnosed problem. Furthermore, you can have good mental health and experience an illness, you can have poor mental health without having an illness, and you can recover from mental health illness in exactly the same way you do a physical injury, through medication, treatment and recovery exercises. Lastly, just like you can recover from a physical injury without lasting issues, you can recover from a mental illness without lasting issues - moreover you can become stronger on both counts! So there you go, it is nothing to be afraid of or embarrassed by - it is just part of being a human being - and it is unbelievably common!!! Hence the subject of the question for this raffle...!
