West Yorkshire Animals In Need has been collaborating with an excellent rescue in Romania for many years and 'Save A Dog Romania' needs our help again for a gorgeous young dog named 'MANDY'. She is about 60 cm shoulder height and weighs around 30 kg and this becomes important as you will see. 'MANDY' has developed hydroma...a fluid pocket that forms as the body attempts to create its own cushion. The most common location for a hygroma is the elbow, although they can occur on the "sit bones" of the pelvis as well. Mandy slept on a hard surface like most rescues in Romania and because of her weight, and I guess physical disposition, she developed one on both elbows. She has suffered immense pain. The first one was operated on and the second one the liquid aspirated. Sadly that did not work and she needed to have the second leg operated on too. This first surgery, where the hydroma was larger, is still weeping and sadly not healing as it should. The vets are trying their best with massage and some local anti inflammatory creams to get good results. We are keeping our fingers crossed that another operation is not needed. It is a slow process. Surgery on Mandy's other leg has healed perfectly and she is wearing a protective sock only. These socks put a bit of pressure on the wounds and protects them. Her foster has made them himself! Mandy now sleeps on the bed with her rescuers so she sleeps soft, comfortable and loved. The veterinary bill for these two surgeries is currently £700 which needs to be covered which is why this RAFFALL is crucial. PLEASE ENTER THIS WONDERFUL RAFFALL AND HELP MANDY!
