Social Adventure Specialist, TruTravels, is donating 2 spaces on its 9 day Thailand Energise to support Jack Jarvis in his jaw-dropping challenge across the Atlantic Ocean! Jack is a British soldier who is currently attempting something no one has ever done before – rowing solo, unsupported, from mainland Europe to mainland North America, all in an attempt to raise money for the amazing brain tumour charity, brainstrust. The whole journey is around 4,500 nautical miles meaning Jack will be at sea, alone, for a total of around 120 days, rowing an average of almost 50 miles every single day! Jack’s reason for doing such a hard challenge is in memory of his grandfather, who passed away in 2007 from a brain tumour, so understandably Jack now wants to raise as much awareness as he can for this awful illness, which effects so many people and families worldwide. Upon completion, Jack, who departed for the challenge on 3rd December 2021, will become a Guinness World Recorder and be the first person in history to complete this particular route, from Portugal to Miami.
