ABOUT US We are a family of 5, originally from the North West, with 3 young children. We’ve lived overseas for the past 5 years, and the house was intended to be a base for us when visiting the UK. However, we have now decided that its time to return home to be close to friends and family. And with a growing family ourselves, we’re going to need a bigger house! And secondly, a reason close to our hearts, to be able to raise money for a charity that have helped us as a family, Neuroblastoma UK. Our daughter was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when she was just 19 months old and our story has had a positive outcome so far, but this may have been entirely different if it was not for the work of Neuroblastoma UK. ABOUT THE CHARITY Neuroblastoma UK is a small national charity, dedicated to finding a cure for neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer. They do this by funding leading research projects to find new, more effective and kinder treatments for children with this devastating disease. Every week in the UK, around two families are told they have neuroblastoma. Current treatments are aggressive, with lasting side effects, and are not always effective. The charity supports research and drug development and works to improve the understanding of how neuroblastoma tumours develop, all potentially leading to better treatment and outcomes. In 2019 the charity funded 9 new research studies, totalling nearly £1.2m. Like most charities, Neuroblastoma UK has been hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic. They are facing a shortfall in donations and desperately need to fund more research. The charity receives no government funding and relies solely on the generosity of the community to fundraise, enabling them to continue their vital work and save more young lives. Once all available tickets are sold we will be donating a minimum of £40,000 to the charity, Neuroblastoma UK. If the ticket sales quota is not met, a winner will still be drawn and will receive the value of 75% of all tickets sold as a cash prize.
