Raffle Summary
On 6 February, during a rescue, Chris Lewis of Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was seriously injured following a 150 metre fall. His injuries are life-changing and I hope to raise funds to help provide the support he will need for the rest of his life. I am raffling a bespoke wooden box depicting the landscape of the Lake District. Given the design, I called it a “Fell” box, which seems appropriate for Chris and the Team. I am hoping to raise money for both the Chris Lewis Support Fund 80%, and Patterdale Mountain Rescue Association 20% by raffling this box. Tickets are priced at £5 each and you can buy as many as you like. All proceeds will be donated to the charities. People from all over the world visit the Lake District so this raffle is open to everyone from all countries and international shipping is included. The winner will be drawn on 28th March 2021 at 6pm The box itself is shown here (images) and you can read more about Patterdale MRT and the incident on Red Screes at https://www.mountainrescue.org.uk/support-us/ Charity Registration No. 506349
1 Prize
Beautiful oak dovetail 'Fell' box with a lid depicting the fells of the Lake District, designed and made by Jacqueline Duffield of The Bespoke Home, based in Cumbria. In my ‘Fell’ range I select wood for its different grain and colour to represent the mountains of the Lake District. The image is then put onto various pieces of furniture. The box I am raffling is made from solid oak using dovetail joints and measures 26 cm wide x 18 cm deep and 13.5 cm high. Inside there are three layers – a bottom compartment and two removable trays - all lined with sea-green suede. The fells on the lid are made up of five different woods including American walnut, pippy oak, cherry, burr oak and spalted beech. The box lends itself to a variety of uses including for jewellery, stationery, sewing threads or a place to keep collectibles and treasures. This raffle is organised and hosted by Jacqueline Duffield on behalf of Chris Lewis and Patterdale Mountain Rescue. The raffle is covered by the Small Society Lottery Licence held by PMRA.
