Raffle Summary
Little Big Sports are celebrating the half term approaching by donating some fantastic prizes for the Mintridge Foundation's "Half Term Celebration Raffle". Little Big Sports are passionate about children playing and enjoying sport. It is their aim to play a part in making sport and activity a normal and fun part of as many children's lives as possible. Little Big Sports is a family business owned and operated by Katie, a mother of two. Her now 12 year old son is the inspiration behind the business. Obsessed by cricket from the age of 18 months (when he tried to spot his Mum on TV at a Test Match!), Katie struggled to know which sized bat was appropriate, let alone where to buy it. Little Big Sports was created by Katie to help other parents find equipment specially designed for children under 12 years of age. The equipment we sell is designed to suit different ages, sizes and abilities. It allows children to enjoy sport and develop the skills of the game without wielding a cricket bat they can't lift, kicking a football that is too heavy or trying to reach a tennis ball that bounces over their heads. Katie, the owner of Little Big Sports was honoured to have been awarded Mumpreneur of the Year in the Kent Women in Business Awards 2014. In the same year, Katie was also a finalist in a national business awards, the Mumpreneur UK 2014 awards in the "Wired" category (best online business). Other accolades include winning a Theo Paphitis' Small Business Sunday (#SBS) award and Jacqueline Gold, Chief Executive of Knickerbox and Ann Summers Women on Wednesday (#WOW) award. https://littlebigsports.co.uk/ The Mintridge Foundation is a registered charity dedicated to enhancing life skills in young people through sport. We provide a support network for young people by harnessing the power of positive sporting role models. The Mintridge Foundation assists young people of all ages, abilities and physical capabilities to develop confidence and resilience, and creates awareness of the importance of mental and physical wellbeing through sport. Our team of Ambassadors - Olympians, Paralympians and other professional sports stars from over 20 sports, both team and individual - work with young people in schools, clubs and academies across the UK. Starting with visits including assemblies, coaching clinics and classroom sessions tailored to each organisation’s requirements, our ambassadors can then provide one- on- one remote mentoring in a safeguarded environment, delivered via technology such as Skype and Playwaze to build a lasting legacy for individuals. The Mintridge Foundation’s successes demonstrate the incredible power of sport; from a mentee’s selection to represent Great Britain in their chosen field to enabling disabled children to find confidence and happiness just through participation. Understanding life after sport, we also support our Ambassadors in their transition from active sport to the next stage of their careers. https://www.mintridgefoundation.org.uk/
