Logan was only 7 years when he was diagnosed with a life threatening rare illness called Fanconi Anaemia. This is a rare genetic disease where the bone marrow is essentially going into failure among other things. Among those affected, the majority develop cancer, most often acute myelogenous leukemia, and 90% develop bone marrow failure (the inability to produce blood cells). The current life expectancy is 33 years old due to the high risk of other cancers such as head and neck, esophageal, gastrointestinal, vulvar in girls and anal cancers. This has turned our whole world upside down and how we live our daily lives. Logan is such a wonderful child, he has a heart of gold and the most caring nature. He loves to laugh and giggle and always wants to be tickled. I live for my cuddles and love that my sweet boy gives me and cannot comprehend a life without him in it. He is my ray of sunshine, always thinking of others. He is his little sisters favourite person. He is an amazing big brother with so much love to give. He is strong and such a warrior in the face of such unfairness. I have to save my son no matter what it takes. Logan will not survive if he has to go back to South Africa, the cost of medical care is horrendous and having a rare disease makes that care unattainable. The risk of him dying will rise higher than our poor boy is at now. We have to raise these funds to make sure that Logan continues to receive the life dependent health care and that we can be a family and give him the support he needs by being able to stay in England, the country that has become our home.
