Derwent College is commemorating George Floyd’s life by raising money for Black Lives Matter, an organization that seeks to bring “Justice, Healing and Freedom” to Black people across the globe. May 25th will mark a year since George Floyd was killed by the police officer Derek Chauvin. Whilst this may be a sad time, it is important to remember to fight for justice and the equal treatment of all people, irrespective of race. The picnic hampers will also contain a map of top picnic locations around York, a BLM-themed Spotify playlist, and conversation prompts related to the movement. Our aim is for all winners and their friends to picnic simultaneously at different locations on Saturday the 15th of May in accordance with the current regulations. At only £4.50 per ticket, we are hoping to raise lots of money for this charity.

10 lucky winners have the chance to win a picnic basket worth £30! Each basket includes 2 bottles of prosecco, 6 cans of Pimm’s as well as tons of food for you and 5 lucky friends to enjoy! There are also 3 vegan and gluten free hampers.
