Dennis is kindly raffling some of his beautiful creations to raise vital funds for Lindsey Lodge Hospice. *£1 per ticket *Draw will take place once 400 tickets have been sold About Dennis: Dennis Nash, who was recommended to attend day care at Lyndsey Lodge Hospice by his McMillan nurse, was diagnosed with terminal cancer in December 2014 with a prognosis of 18 months. The hospice provided much needed respite and package of support at that difficult time. Dennis quotes ‘ the kind and caring staff alongside the volunteers truly care’ and it didn’t take long for him to realise what a special place the hospice was and looked forward to his weekly visit. Dennis, who some of you will already know as an internationally known artist and designer, came up with the idea to hold a one man art sale in Scawby Village hall to raise funds for the hospice. The sales exceeded anything he could have imagined totalling £8,000 over the two days with all monies being donated to the hospice. As the sale was so successful Dennis held another one day art sale the following year raising a further £6,000 for the hospice. Lyndsey lodge have now undertaken to run the art sale themselves, opening it up to the wider artist community with Dennis still contributing from his existing collection. Alongside the two art sale proceeds he has donated 100 framed paintings to be used by the fund raising team at their events providing another £10,000 for the hospice. One of those paintings alone raised £1,500 in a blind auction. The last year his health has prevented him from painting so he has been dipping into his extensive portfolio in order for him to continue to donate. He has been painting for as long as he can remember and his artwork has been collected worldwide as far away as Japan, New Zealand, USA and throughout Europe with many of his collectors in Malta. It was actually a scene of Malta that was seen and brought by Buckingham Palace to adore the queens private secretary’s apartment. You can see some of Dennis’ bespoke paintings adorning the walls of the new bedded units and along the corridors of the hospice. The current fundraising total stands at just over £32,000 and Dennis pays thanks to his family and very special friend for their support. Dennis will continue, in whatever way possible, to use his passion for painting to raise funds for the hospice. He has been fortunate to survive much longer than he ever thought possible but his passion for the hospice has never changed. A huge thank you to Dennis for his incredible support.
