The proceeds of this raffle will be split equally between the PDSA, Hope Park, Keswick Charitable Trust and Nowsad (Pen Farthings) Charity. Fans of Team Irving came about at the end of January, 2021. Barbara Holl and Allison Vaux got together to create it, when the community fb page on Max Out in the Lake District disappeared and members had no where to post. Melanie joined us in Admin a couple of months later as we realised this group was going to be BIG! She recently had to step back from admin for personal reasons. The group was founded to work along side Team Irving while at the same time being a supporting arm for all members who were finding things a little difficult. Our members are from all around the world, we all have different reasons for being members, but we all have the same thing in common:- Kerry, Angela, Max, Paddy and Harry. The group has turned out to be the most supportive and caring bunch of people that anyone could have dreamed of and we Thank You for that. Why the Charities have been Chosen:- PDSA - Chosen not only because of the work it does, but because it is one of Team Irving's chosen charities and we want as a group to support and to play our part. Hope Park Charitable Trust - Chosen not only because this is the home of Max's beautiful Statue, but because it is a wonderful place to sit and reflect or spend time when visiting Keswick. It lost thousands of pounds of revenue throughout lockdown and is run by volunteer's, so we want to play a small part giving something back to them. Nowsad Charity - Chosen because Pen Farthing and his escape from Afganistan with his team and animals touched the hearts of so many in this group. With his fight and determination, he got the animals out - many if not all of them would have been killed if left there. Nowsad, got the animals safely to the UK and now need help with rehoming and looking after them and also helping his Afgan staff (trained Vets etc) that escaped, to settle into their new home's, as they left with nothing. I hope you will agree, that the 3 Charities above are all worthy causes, and we thank you for taking part in this raffle and helping us help them. Many thanks Allison and Barbara xx
