We have a fantastic week's staycation based in glorious Devon for a family of 4 including one dog, during half term in February commencing Saturday 12th February 2022. Offering quality holiday accommodation in the beautiful East Devon countryside, the semi-detached comfortable single-story cottage is named after the local village of Broadclyst. The cottage sleeps up to four guests and is next to the friendly owner's farmhouse. On site is an outside area for children to play, making this an ideal destination for small families or couples alike. The rural location makes a tranquil retreat or ideal base from which to explore the fascinating area. The nearby village of Whimple offers a choice of pubs, a village shop and a post office. There is even a railway station on the Waterloo line making exploring the historic city of Exeter without a car very simple. The city is famous for its magnificent cathedral, unique network of underground passages, and historic quay. Ottery St Mary is just 7 miles to the East of the cottages and is one of the oldest towns in Devon and offers a variety of shops and cafes. Nestled in the valley of the River Otter, the rolling hills of Devon unfold in every direction. Just a few miles to the south are the beautiful beaches of the Jurassic coast with Regency seaside towns such as Exmouth and Sidmouth to explore, the pebble beach of Budleigh Salterton or along to to the Dorset border and Lyme Regis where fossils are often found. Resting just a short distance from Rockbeare and three miles away from Whimple is this semi-detached single-story cottage, converted from a barn, set across the yard from the owner’s farmhouse. Broadclyst Cottage comes with a well-equipped kitchen for cooking up delicious meals, by making the most of the electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. Moving through the property, you will find the light-filled open-plan living/dining room, boasting a plush seating arrangement with TV and DVD player. As the evening draws to a close, head to find the two bedrooms, comprising of a king-size bedroom and a bunk bedroom, together sleeping four people and served by a sleek shower room, with a walk-in shower, basin and WC.
