This year, my best friend Jane and I are baking and auctioning our "infamous" Christmas cake for FareShare. Jane and I met when we were living in Phuket, and we bonded over our love of family, food, and fun times. We cooked and baked a lot together, for the Great British Bake Off (Phuket version), for Burns Night, for sailing trips, for our daughters’ school events. Jane now lives in Aberdeen whilst I am in London. But our friendship remains strong. This cake is the first Jane-Jacq cross-border collaboration. I will start soaking the dried fruits in sherry (18th of October) and will bake the cake a month or so later. Jane will then ice the cake and post it to the winner of this raffle on the 1st of December (anywhere in the UK by registered post). This 9 inch cake will have 1.5 lbs in weight in dried fruits, soaked in Spanish sherry. I will bake with it with free range eggs and organic flour. When you purchase your raffle ticket, we will send you updates via email about how the cake is progressing. We will draw the raffle on the 1st of December. Each raffle ticket costs £0.50. We are capping the number of tickets to 200, so every ticket has a fair chance of winning.
