Raffle Summary
As a Concept artist and illustrator working in the film industry Will Buchanan has worked on some of the most successful films to date from the The Hobbit trilogy to Star Wars being based in ‘Middle Earth’ New Zealand for over a decade now. He has recently been busy designing the furniture on the the new ‘rings of power’ Amazon series. Originally from Walton in Liverpool Will enjoyed a childhood filled with reading and drawing. He then went on to study Fine Art Painting at John Moores University before heading off on his travels to start his exciting international career. He has been commissioned to paint numerous comical hobbit themed portraits of many famous tourists as they visit the Hobbiton Movie Set tourist attraction. Some recent commissions include Jacinda Ardern (NZ’s prime minister), the Royals Harry and Megan and closer to home Jonathan Ross to name a few. Will wanted to get involved to raise funds for alternative treatments for his cousin Oliver who was diagnosed with a grade 3 anaplastic astrocytoma brain tumour 2 weeks before his 22nd birthday. Options avaiable on the NHS are limited whereas treatments in Germany and the USA have made major advances in Immunotherapy vaccines for brain tumours but at a large cost to uk citizens. As Oliver is a staunch supporter of Everton FC Will had the idea to draw a portrait of the living legend Seamus Coleman in pencil on cotton paper which is beautifully framed and up for grabs for one lucky winner of the upcoming raffle. Tickets will be available at £12.50 each and details can be found in the Liverpool Echo and on the Everton FC website with features on various social media outlets so keep a look out! The portrait will also be signed by Seamus himself. Will is also available for further commissions with all proceeds going to Ollys treatment fund.
