Would you like to win a unique crochet blanket AND help to look after rescue cat Meow? Now’s your chance! Meow is a sweet boy that I accidentally rescued just before Christmas. I was on a walk and just came across him, well I heard him crying before I saw him. His elderly owner could no longer care for him, so he was just left outside. He was incredibly skinny and missing fur, with the loudest meow from such a little body! I couldn't see him suffering, especially not in the winter, so I took him in. After a vet trip, he was treated for fleas, a flea allergy, pancreatitis and anaemia. A few months in, he is now a healthy weight and we know he will have his chronic pancreatitis for life, but it's being controlled by medication. He also has chronic IBS, which basically means permanent liquid poop. After trying different things with no effect, the vet has suggested a course of treatment that is in fact a human chemotherapy drug. It will reduce the turnover of cells in his intestines and hopefully allow time to heal and stop the diarrhoea. However, it does come with risks so he will need regular blood testing. In order to give him two rounds of this treatment safely, I need to raise at least £600. I hope this raffle can help me reach this target, and give Meow the quality of life he deserves.
