This piece of Boston Bruins memorabilia was signed by the squad that appeared in the Odyssey Arena against a Belfast Giants select team on the 4th October 2010. This Bruins team then went on to win the Stanley Cup in 7 games against the Vancouver Canucks later that season. Some of the names signed on the jersey include NHL Superstars (current Bruins Captain) Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, David Krejci, Milan Lucic, Blake Wheeler, Tyler Seguin . Other notable signatures that appear are Stanley Cup Winners Johnny Boychuk, Shawn Thornton, Nathan Horton and Adam McQuaid. The Bruins went on to beat the Giants Select team 5–1 after being held scoreless for the first period. Rookie star Tyler Seguin also scored a pair of goals. All funds raised for this piece of memorabilia will be donated to the Ukraine Hockey Dream. Taking place at The SSE Arena, Belfast on Wednesday 19 April 2023, a one-off international will be contested between a Belfast Giants All Stars team – consisting of current and former Giants players and a few special guests – and Ukrainian National Championship side Dnipro Kherson. The two teams will face off as part of the ‘Hockey Can’t Stop Tour’, in support of Ukrainian Hockey Dream – the registered charity foundation of the Ice Hockey Federation of Ukraine, with all proceeds from the game’s ticket sales being donated towards their mission to support and sustain Ukrainian hockey during the Russo-Ukrainian war and beyond. With approximately 60% of young ice hockey players in Ukraine forced to abandon their homes and relocate, and 40% of all ice arenas in Ukraine either seized or destroyed, Ukrainian Hockey Dream’s charitable goals include: providing safety and support for players and staff, youth and professional training, and arena restoration and development throughout Ukraine.
