Sweepstake Summary

A rare hand painted prototype Ghost. This foxglove prototype was made in advance of our Black Box Poison Garden edition in February 2021. The edition sold out at time of release. We rarely part with Black Box prototypes so this really is a unique Ghost. It was painted in pen and ink by Mrs Humphreys and hand lettered FOXGLOVE also DIGITALIS ( not present on the Black Box edition Ghosts ). The body is darker and patterned with a crackle markings as opposed to the bone white of the Poison Garden edition. The base ( underside ) is signed by Mrs Humphreys and marked PROTOTYPE. The Ghost will not be packed in a black box and there is no edition card as the prototypes are not part of the original limited edition release. All money raised less the 10% Raffall commission goes directly to The Lily Foundation ( ie £1.80 from each £2 ticket ) The Lily Foundation is the UK's leading mitochondrial disease charity and the largest charitable funder of mitochondrial research in Europe. Their mission is to improve the lives of people affected by mitochondrial diseases, while working towards a future where mitochondrial diseases can be effectively treated or cured. Mitochondrial disease, or 'mito', is the term given to a group of genetic medical disorders caused by mutations in mitochondria, the tiny organelles that are present in nearly every cell in our bodies and which generate about 90% of the energy we need to live. Cells cannot function properly without healthy mitochondria, so when they fail the consequences are serious and wide-ranging. There is currently no cure for mitochondrial disorders. However, important steps have been made to make diagnosis faster, easier and less invasive to the patient, and some promising research into effective mito treatments is underway. The more we learn about mitochondrial dysfunction the closer we will be to one day finding a cure. Thank you for your support. TYGM
