Enter Raffle to Win One of Ten Limited Edition Louise Stebbing Prints
Raffle Summary
To raise funds to continue our vital work alleviating hygiene poverty, we're raffling limited edition works created exclusively for Toiletries Amnesty by multi-award-winning artist Louise Stebbing! Louise has exhibited several times at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and her work is in the Victoria & Albert Museum collection, as well as private collections worldwide. She has also exhibited her work in a major solo show showing 4 decades of work at Cambridge University, and she is currently exhibiting 50 of her works at The Ropewalk Gallery in Barton upon Humber until 3 March 2024. Created in 2020, this work, 'Most Wanted 2020' is an art print featuring the UK’s most wanted items during the COVID-19 pandemic to support the work Toiletries Amnesty does and raise awareness of hygiene poverty. The artwork is a three-colour linocut printed on A4 Fabriano Rosaspina 220gsm paper depicting the household essentials stockpiled by UK shoppers in the early days of the pandemic, including toilet roll, soap, baked beans and hand sanitiser. Its title, Most Wanted, captures the panic buying that swept the nation and led to empty shelves in UK shops. The print was created in a limited edition of 30 original prints and 100 reproduction prints, with 100% of the proceeds going directly t0 Toiletries Amnesty to help the organisations we support. Artist Statement from Louise Stebbing, Printmaker: 'Most Wanted 2020' was created in response to global issues and the reaction some people had to such a drastic time. It's a remark about the things the public seemed to find the most necessary in a time of crisis - almost causing another crisis in their wake. I created the linocut as I wanted to be able to give something back in these hard times. Every day, Toiletries Amnesty strives to alleviate hygiene poverty by redirecting unwanted and excess toiletries away from landfills or incineration and into the hands of those in need. We were the first organisation in the UK to tackle hygiene poverty and the only directory that allows individuals and businesses to see exactly where their donations are making an impact. We work with homeless shelters and hostels, women’s refuges, mental health services, end-of-life care hospices, food banks, NHS Trust services, cancer patients support, refugee support services, LGBTQ+ groups, prison services, children's centres, young peoples' services, schools, colleges, community groups, and other organisations that need our support. But we can’t do this alone. We receive no government funding, so we rely on financial donations to ensure we can continue to provide our services for free to the millions of people we support. Last year we supported almost 4 million people, and with your help, we can reach even more. That's a big deal!
